Brand new work-in-progress from Pea Bien Theatre, makers of Last Wednesday’s Work Shirt, in collaboration with Leo Tolstoy, writer

War & Peace is notoriously easy to adapt. Anyone can do it. But Pea Bien Theatre has one thing no-one else has: access to the spirit of Tolstoy himself. And he told us some things.

One: War & Peace is, in fact, a comedy. Two: it was always supposed to feature dance routines, puppetry, 80s synth bangers and a belly-busting laugh every 30 seconds. And three: always aim for the balls.

So, with his explicit blessing (it was in Russian but we think we got the gist), Pea Bien Theatre will finish what Tolstoy started. History will be rewritten. Theatre will be made. And we will aim for the balls.

A new work-in-progress theatre show from the makers of Last Wednesday’s Works Shirt and Painting By Numbers.
