A rags-to-riches musical adventure remixed, restitched and full of fun for ages 5-10 and the whole family – inspired by the tale by Beatrix Potter

This fast, funny and big-hearted adaptation of The Tailor of Gloucester, inspired by Beatrix Potter’s original, is a joyful show about courage, community and the power of doing good. Farnham Maltings is proud to present this bold new adaptation, written by Alex Kanefsky (Cable Street) and featuring an electrifying original score by double Olivier Award winner Darren Clark (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button).

In a town being drained of colour, a struggling tailor and a trio of sharp, ambitious mice finally find themselves on the brink of success. Fame and fortune await but to what consequence for their friends and neighbours? Packed with live music that blends rock and pop, inventive puppetry, jokes, mischief and surprises, a cast of four spin this classic story into something fresh, funny and full of heart.

Bold, musical and bursting with colour – perfect for all generations to enjoy together, age guide: 3 – 103!

“My four-year-old said it was awesome and loved watching the show. Brilliant interactions between the actors, fantastic humour and music. It was pitched brilliantly for the audience and getting them to interact.”
