Storytelling, comedy and music from Daniel Kitson and Gavin Osborn
Nearly twenty years ago, Daniel Kitson and Gavin Osborn wrote their first show together for one night at Regents Park Open Air Theatre. After that, because they liked it so much, they toured the show around Australia and released it digitally about ten years ago before putting it out on vinyl, maybe two years ago, and now, without the excuse of a specific anniversary or a vinyl re-issue or indeed any reason at all beyond wanting to be able to pay for things and not really having any new ideas – Daniel and Gavin are coming back together to perform The Ballad of Roger & Grace, in Bristol to warm up before doing it again in Oslo, of all places.
It is, to be fair to it, a lovely and funny story with beautiful and heart breaking songs.
But also, these days, you simply have to monetise your back catalogue.
