The critically acclaimed debut show about suffering (and smiling) from Nigerian stand-up Ayoade Bamgboye, winner of Best Newcomer at the 2025 Edinburgh Comedy Awards – presented by Chuckle Busters

Following her sold-out run at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, Swings & Roundabouts comes to a city near you.

Burdened by the gift of sight, a primeval awareness that something is not quite right, and almost three accents, she’ll ask life’s big questions and provide absolutely no answers. Born in London, raised in Lagos, sacked in Budapest, the poor woman has been there and done that – and to what end? Swings & Roundabouts is about going nowhere fast, being too British to stop apologising, and too Nigerian to stop shouting.

WINNER – NextUp’s Biggest Award In Comedy 2025
NOMINATED – Best Newcomer at 2025 ISH Awards

As seen in her own Channel 4 Playground.

“As striking a debut as I’ve seen… Her command, the confidence in her delivery and how she makes the whole room her own, is quite something.”
★★★★ Guardian

“A mercurial talent… it takes your breath away.”
★★★★ Scotsman

“The funniest and most commanding debut to land in Edinburgh for many years… startlingly original.”
