Season 30 Ep 1 – “Calm Before the Storm?”

Constance can’t decide what to say to Simpkins’ marriage proposal. To clear her mind she
takes a solo trip on her sailing yacht in Newtown harbour…
Simpkins, distracted by Constance, is unaware that Dotty wants to oust him and take over
the hotel. Meanwhile, Roy is having a totally dry January – meaning he’s avoiding all water.
Roy agrees to help Dotty though and gets Simpkins out of the way by inviting him to have a
go at ‘Paddle’.
Alex is grieving his dying Tamagotchi which reminds Saffron of her childhood pets. They take
a Grief Management course but, triggered by the music of Vangelis, Saffron flies into a
violent rage. Angered that Dotty was rude about his Tamagotchi, Alex triggers Saffron to
attack her. Dotty quickly overcomes the attack however leaving Saffron embarrassed –
especially as Alex has put it all online.
Aaron takes Vicki out onto the boating lake and confronts her as to why she has come to
Newtown. She reveals Aaron’s true identity as Colin, a struck off Doctor responsible for
many deaths. Just then a storm hits and they shelter under a tree but Vicki is struck by
lightning…or was it a flower pot dropped by the good Doctor!
Simpkins and Roy spot Constance in trouble on the sea and paddle out to her but Simpkins
falls into the water. Constance, realising her love for Simpkins, vows to marry him and jumps
in to save him!
Will Constance save Simpkins?
Will Vicki reveal Aaron’s true identity?
Will Dotty take over the hotel?
