The Team

Matthew is an experienced theatre director, dramaturg, producer and improviser. He leads The Wardrobe Theatre artistically and as CEO, curating all programming. Matthew oversaw the theatre’s relocation to Old Market in 2015, becoming a charity in 2017 and navigating the theatre through covid-19. He also performs regularly at Edinburgh Fringe and on tour nationally and internationally with Murder, She Didn’t Write by Degrees of Error and has performed in over 100 episodes of Closer Each Day, the fortnightly live improvised soap opera. Recent dramaturgy includes: all seasons of The Wardrobe Ensemble’s family adventure podcast, The Seekers Podcast; Sharp Teeth’s online murder mystery series, Sherlock In Homes; and The Deep Sea Seekers by The Wardrobe Ensemble. He has also worked as co-director or dramaturg on all of The Wardrobe Theatre’s alternative comedy Christmas shows since 2012 including The Good, The Bad & The Coyote Ugly, Drac & Jill, Reservoir Mogs, Rocky Shock Horror, Goldilock, Stock & Three Smoking Bears and MDH: Puppets Do A Movie.

Chris is an experienced stage manager, director and devisor. He studied theatre amongst the cow patted fields of Dartington College of Arts graduating in 2007. He works with many Bristol-based companies including Kid Carpet, Opposable Thumb, Fellswoop Theatre, Insane Root and Mufti Games as well as being co-Founder and Technical Director of The Wardrobe Theatre since 2011.

Aisha is a queer, non-binary, South Asian, improviser, musical director, composer, producer, workshop facilitator and Artistic Director of Kiota as well as Theatre Manager of The Wardrobe Theatre. They are passionate about the point where theatre and activism meet and particularly focus on decolonising arts spaces. They manage our fantastic team of Front of House staff and volunteers and lead our artist development programme.

After bouncing around working in various roles for arts venues in Bath and Bristol, Luke has found his home in alternative and fringe theatre. He started his journey by founding the comedy society whilst at Bath Spa University and has continued to perform improv and sketch comedy with his friends in their group, Up The Antics. When not managing the finances for The Wardrobe Theatre, Luke enjoys football, cycling and playing guitar.

Kate came to Bristol in 2012 to study Drama at the University of Bristol and has since worked on box offices at a variety of theatres and festivals across the South West and Wales. She is also a writer, performer, and theatre-maker and has performed at The Wardrobe Theatre with her folk musical comedy company Riddlestick Theatre (The Cabinet of Madame Fanny Du Thé, Undercover Christmas Club and FOOLS) and as part of double act Stokes & Summers (Careering).

LK is an experienced technician, production manager and circus performer. She’s made her home in festival big tops and spiegeltents and is now diving into the world of theatre. Since moving to Bristol in 2018 she’s worked with companies such as Circomedia, Lavrak Circus, The Revel Puck Circus and now The Wardrobe Theatre.

Daisy moved to Bristol from West Yorkshire in 2015 to study Drama and Creative Writing, ever since she’s worked in theatre and music venues across Bristol. She also works as a freelance writer and theatre maker, writer for CLUNK magazine and co-founder of Mismatch Theatre, she’s currently in double act comedy Scraps.

With a global background spanning Romania, Italy, and the U.S., I bring over 5 years of experience in marketing, communications, and social media across the arts, culture, and hospitality sectors. After completing high school in Santa Monica, CA, I earned a BA (Hons) in Politics and International Relations from Bristol, UK, focusing on Human Rights.

Currently, I am the Communications Coordinator at Diverse Artists Network, promoting diversity in the arts, I also serve as Marketing Manager for The Wardrobe Theatre, Bristol’s leading fringe theatre and arts hub. My career has been driven by a passion for social justice, community engagement, and storytelling, with a dedication to supporting marginalised voices and connecting audiences through impactful stories.
