Exeter Opera Group present Gioachino Rossini’s entertaining and sparkling opera
G. Rossini’s L’Italiana In Algeri (The Italian Girl In Algiers) is one of the most entertaining and sparkling comic operas in the bel canto repertoire. Full of mistaken identities, witty situations and Rossini’s irresistible musical humour, it delights audiences with its energy, charm and laughter. At the same time, it is a vocally demanding work, requiring the agility, virtuosity and elegance that make bel canto singing so thrilling.
Exeter Opera Group is looking forward to bringing this wonderful opera to The Wardrobe Theatre in Bristol. We are delighted to have a cast of outstanding singers, including a superb bel canto mezzo-soprano, a beautiful tenor, a wonderful bass, and a talented ensemble of sopranos and altos, all ready to bring Rossini’s unforgettable characters to life.
