Ear Trumpet Folk Club: Leeroy Stagger (plus Mark J. Lee)
His ever-evolving fusion of roots, rock and pop has confirmed Leeroy Stagger's status as one of Canada’s best contemporary singer/songwriters
Ear Trumpet Folk Club: Regular intimate, sit-down gigs with some of the greatest musicians from around the globe.
Leeroy Stagger’s ever-evolving fusion of roots, rock and pop has confirmed his status as one of Canada’s best contemporary singer/songwriters. Since first making his mark on the Canadian independent music scene at the turn of this century, Leeroy Stagger has toured the world, both on his own and with the likes of Steve Earle, Pixies, Modest Mouse and Evan Dando. Stagger’s performances and songwriting have won him The Peak 95.3 FM “Peak Performance Project” contest (2015) and the Calgary Folk Festival “Pros and Prose” contest (2014). The addition of Love Versus (coming spring 2017), to his (ahem) staggering body of work opens a new chapter, promising to reach many more ears.
“A catchy gumbo of songs that would do Ryan Adams proud.”
“Delivered with immaculate, attentive, precise playing.”
MARK J. LEE
Mark J. Lee has been making an impression on the UK Americana scene for some time now. For 10 years he was the singer, guitarist and songwriter for Alt. Country rockers ‘Howlin’ Lord’ performing all over the UK and Europe from Berlin dive bars to Glastonbury Festival. Since going solo at the end of 2016 Mark J. Lee has won over audiences across the UK with an unmistakable lonesome tenor vocal and self penned songs of love, loss and revenge, all delivered with a wry smile and an unshakable honesty, evoking the golden age of country songwriting.
“Our new National Anthem.”
“Beautiful Rainy Day Country.”
