After sell-out shows at the Alma Tavern and Bristol SU, Dramsoc brings its first production to The Wardrobe Theatre in Simon Stephens’ highly acclaimed script

24th Apr - 26th Apr
8pm | £8 (£6 for students, £5 for Dramsoc members)

‘When you lie on your back, it’s like you can feel the contours of the earth. You can feel where it curves. You can imagine its whole size.’

It’s the last week of his massive international tour, and rock star Paul is at the height of his fame. Everybody knows his name. Whatever he wants he can have. He can screw anybody he wants to. He can buy anything he desires. He can eat anything. Drink anything. Smoke anything. Go anywhere. As the inevitability of the end of the road looms closer and a return home becomes a reality, for Paul the music is starting to jar. Birdland is a piercing new play by Simon Stephens which looks at empathy, money and fame.

Bristol Dramsoc is thrilled to make its debut performance at The Wardrobe Theatre after its most recent successful production of Arthur Miller’s A View From The Bridge in the Winston Theatre.

Dramsoc is the University of Bristol’s longest running, largest and most prestigious performing arts society entirely dedicated to student theatre. Founded over 50 years ago, Dramsoc is dedicated to creating consistently high quality productions with our talented members, and stages up to 10 productions a year.
