Chuckle Busters Edinburgh Previews: Catch two excellent comedians each night before they take their new material to the Fringe

22nd Jul
8pm | £9

It’s the build up to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2017 and the UK’s finest comedy talent are coming to The Wardrobe Theatre to road test their shows ahead of the world’s largest arts festival. Each night will feature two full length performances from some of the top comedians in the country for just £9.

ANGELA BARNES: FORTITUDE
Following sell-out Fringe shows in 2014 and 2015, Angela Barnes (Mock The Week, Alan Davies’ As Yet Untitled, Russell Howard’s Good News, BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz, host of Newsjack on BBC Radio 4 Extra) is back with her brand new 2017 show, Fortitude. Stand-up and stories from a reluctant 40 year old with some stuff to say.

“Feels like a sure-fire bet the instant she utters her opening lines” Scotsman
“She’s just a gloriously down-to-earth, straight talking and extremely funny comic” Guardian
“The pace is fast, the material strong and the delivery perfect” Chortle

LLOYD LANGFORD: WORK-IN-PROGRESS
Lloyd Langford is a stand-up comedian, writer and an actor of incredibly limited range. You may have seen him on Q.I (BBC1) Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC2) or heard him on the Rhod Gilbert Show (BBC Radio Wales) or The Unbelievable Truth (BBC Radio 4). He’s been invited to comedy festivals all over the world, including Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival and the Christchurch Busker’s Festival. His stand up is a winning combination of jokes, personal anecdotes, petty grievances and offbeat observations.

“A collection of absolutely top-class standalone jokes” The Guardian
“Brilliant, charming, understated” The Independent
“Just the right level of Welshness” The Mirror
