The Artists’ Network

Hello Bristol and South West artists! We have launched a new artist development programme to create more opportunities for local theatre-makers. This will include workshops, Q&As, in-house assisting jobs and hopefully much more!

Are you passionate about theatre? The Wardrobe Theatre are always on the lookout for reliable people to join our team of volunteers to help with box office, ushering and the day-to-day running of the venue. If you would like to get involved and become part of The Wardrobe Theatre voluntary team then please get in touch by emailing and we can have a chat about how you can help:

Please read before contacting us:

Do you have a show you want to put on at The Wardrobe Theatre? We are always looking for exciting new productions and ideas to try onstage. We try to support as many up-and-coming artists and companies based in the South West as possible but we also host suitable touring shows. Our stage is corner end-on in a roughly 4m by 4m square with raked seating in a L shape that can accommodate about 100 people. The space has full technical capabilities. We work on a box office split with all visiting companies.

When contacting us about your show proposal, please use email only and please include as much information about you/your company and your proposed production as possible (that includes images, video links, website links and reviews – please do not send entire scripts) as well as information on roughly when you are looking to bring your show here and for how long. We generally programme events at The Wardrobe Theatre 6 months in advance. The theatre’s programme is a curated mix of theatre, comedy, music, spoken word, dance and family shows.  Please be aware we do not programme Shakespeare or any other classics. Instead we favour devised work and new ideas, shows that celebrate the liveness of the theatre and engage a younger than normal theatre crowd (our audience is mainly ages 18-45). If you feel your production is right for The Wardrobe Theatre, we look forward to hearing from you.

Please be aware that we receive a huge volume of messages every day and regret that we cannot reply to every email we receive. If we are interested in your production and think it would fit the programme here at The Wardrobe Theatre we will get back to you as soon as we can – this may be several weeks.
